If you’re a fan of UNIQLO, you’re in for a treat.
In 2016, the popular Japanese retailer opened its first Canadian location at CF Toronto Eaton Centre and opened in Vancouver shortly after. Since then, the brand has expanded across the country and now has nine locations in Canada, all of which are located in the Ontario and British Columbia.
While some retailers are struggling and others are shutting down business for good, UNIQLO shows no signs of slowing down.
As reported by Retail Insider, UNIQLO will be opening two more Canadian stores during the spring and early summer. The two locations will both be located in Ontario: Oshawa Centre and Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket.
The location at Oshawa Centre is reported to span a total of 16,000 square feet and will be located between Victoria’s Secret and Zara. UNIQLO joins a roster of retailers that include Hudson’s Bay, Forever 21, H&M, Sephora, MINISO, and many more.
UNIQLO’s Upper Canada Mall location will span 15,038 square feet and will be located next to H&M, across from Rudsak and Banana Republic.
The two new stores will be relatively smaller than UNIQLO’s CF Eaton Centre location, which stands at 27,400 square feet.
With the addition of more stores, UNIQLO is making it easier for Canadian’s to shop the highly-coveted brand.
While UNIQLO locations are only based in two provinces right now, Canadians from coast to coast can shop the brand via UNIQLO’s app. The mobile e-commerce app launched in the late summer of 2018, offering the brand’s wide range of LifeWear as well as extended sizes on UNIQLO’s most popular pieces.
The brand has done an incredibly good job at keeping Canadian’s interested in the brand during a retail apocalypse. They offer a diverse product line, which includes collaborations with designers like Alexander Wang and a modest wear line by Hana Tajima, and an incredible range of clothing and accessories. In addition, the brand keeps shoppers intrigued with free clothing giveaways at store openings and even spread the warmth a couple winters ago when they gave out 30,000 pieces of HeatTech apparel.
It’s likely we’ll see more of UNIQLO in the future, so be sure to check back to stay updated on more openings and events.
