8 Charged After Fake Goods Seized In Raid At Markham Shopping Centre
Eight people are now facing charges related to the police raid of Pacific Mall after yearlong investigation.
The investigation started after York Regional Police started getting a numerous amount of tips about fake goods being sold.

If you know about Pacific Mall, this won’t really come as a surprise. The notorious shopping centre made the list of U.S. governments’ annual list of the most notorious counterfeit markets in the world this year. Not the best publicity for our city, right?
According to a YRP news release, those charged are Xiaoting Du, 32, of Markham, Jing Sun, 55, of Markham; Siwen Sun, 29, of Markham; Dan Chen, 34, of Aurora, Ontario; Xie Min Wu, 55, Yue Qin, 29, of Ajax, Ontario, Yi Long, 31 and 39-year-old Jie Ni Lai of Toronto.

The individuals all face charges of selling or offering for sale of distributing on a commercial scale any goods associated with a trademark.
The raid took place in June at Pacific Mall and officers took over the space and were seen removing boxes from stores.
