This January has been cold, wet and dark. According to the Toronto Star, our fair city has seen less than 50 hours of sunlight this entire month.
As of the past weekend, Toronto has seen a sparse 48.8 hours of sunlight which is down almost half the seasonal average of sunlight for January which typically falls around 85 hours.
While this month hasn’t been all that bad in terms of weather, lack of sunlight has emotional and physical effects on people.
January is the month we highlight mental health, it’s important to know that poor access to sunlight definitely negatively impacts people’s emotions.
So if you’re feeling down this month or even sluggish it could be due to the fact that you have not had enough sun. Pop some vitamin D’s and try to go outside when the sun in shining!
Hopefully, February is a little better.
