Canada Day is one of the stand out long weekends of the year. It’s right smack dab in the middle of summer and if the weather is nice the possibilities of things to do are endless. While the Weather Canada Day in the past few years has been a sub-par, If you wanted a hot day you are in luck.
For some of us it may be too hot, our expert friends at Accuweather are predicting that while temperatures will hover around 30 C high humidity will make it feel close to 40 c. We caught up with Brett Anderson from Accuweather who told us “Canada Day in Toronto will resemble a steam bath. Triple H weather….Hazy, hot and humid with afternoon temperatures between 32 and 34 deg. C away from the immediate lakeshore, where temps will hover closer to 30 C. However, factoring in the high humidity, it may feel closer to 38 or 39 deg. as you go farther away from the lake. There may also be some air quality issues. At this point, most areas should stay dry, though we cannot rule out an isolated afternoon thunderstorm. ”
With the weather in Toronto being hot AF we suggest getting out of the city if you can. If you can’t please take precautions and keep yourself cool. Take a look at our lists below of things to do to keep you cool this long weekend. Happy Canada Day!
While the weather has been getting cold, up until today we Torontonians have experienced pretty mild weather, especially now that we are more than a week into November. According to our sources at Accuweather, this is coming to an end as Thursday, November 9th is looking like it will be the first day for us to experience snowfall.
Accuweather is predicting that later this afternoon we will experience some snow squalls and the weather will feel like -17 degrees. That will be a shock to your system as the high for today is around 8 degrees, making it almost impossible to dress if you’ll be out for the entire day.

While some people love snow, most Torontonians see it as something we just have to put up with. With winter officially knocking on our door, we hope you bundle up tonight and prepare for a long winter.
October has been nice, hasn’t it? The unseasonably nice weather has lulled us into a comfort of extra cottage weekends, patios remaining open and just a general good vibe around the city. Unfortunately, according to experts, this will all come to an end.
Our friends at AccuWeather have given us an outlook of what we can expect this winter, and unless you love snow, you’ll be in for a shock. Accuweather predicts that a snowy winter is expected for much of eastern Canada with the prospect of major snowstorms throughout the season.
AccuWeather Canadian Weather Expert Brett Anderson states that “There are opportunities for several significant snow events from Windsor through Toronto and up into Ottawa and Montreal this winter, especially in January and February,” The abnormally warm waters in the Great Lakes will also fuel significant lake-effect snow events, especially for cities such as Sault Ste. Marie, Barrie and London, Ontario, according to Anderson.
The only benefit for Ontarians is that the influx of snow will make for great ski conditions in eastern Canada.
So what does all this mean? Well, if you’re enjoying our current nice weather, get prepared for a rude awakening, and if you are one of those true Canadians who really does love the snow then all the best to you. We’ll be cursing your name.

Spring? What’s that?
While the weather has been pretty mild for the majority of winter, it looks like we’re getting another blast of cold.
Environment Canada is warning that 10 to 15 cm of snowfall is expected by Tuesday night with wind chills as low as minus 20.
They are also estimating poor travel conditions meaning tomorrow is the perfect day to call in sick to work and snuggle up with some Netflix… Just don’t tell them we told you that.
Fortunately, it looks like things will start warming up again on with a high of 0°C on Thursday, rising to 4°C with a chance of flurries or rain showers on Saturday.
If one thing’s for certain, it’s that the weather is confusing AF. Stay safe, Toronto!

An Environmental Canada forecast is reporting a high of 11 C with sun on Saturday and highs of 9 C on both Sunday and Monday – we along with many others are stoked. Although don’t hang up your winter parka just yet. Until then it’s likely going to be rather chilly, so for now let the thought of an extra day of sleep and some sunshine help get you through the rest of the week.
This January has been cold, wet and dark. According to the Toronto Star, our fair city has seen less than 50 hours of sunlight this entire month.
As of the past weekend, Toronto has seen a sparse 48.8 hours of sunlight which is down almost half the seasonal average of sunlight for January which typically falls around 85 hours.
While this month hasn’t been all that bad in terms of weather, lack of sunlight has emotional and physical effects on people.
January is the month we highlight mental health, it’s important to know that poor access to sunlight definitely negatively impacts people’s emotions.
So if you’re feeling down this month or even sluggish it could be due to the fact that you have not had enough sun. Pop some vitamin D’s and try to go outside when the sun in shining!
Hopefully, February is a little better.
