You may want to set your coffee mug down for this one… Health Canada has issued an alert and has recalled over 20,000 Indigo brand mugs and other products due to mould contamination.
The mugs may have been kept in humid conditions and as a result, may be contaminated with mould.
Health Canada states that ingesting mould could pose a risk of gastrointestinal symptoms and infections in consumers with compromised immune systems.
A list of the Recalled products can be viewed here, including select Indigo branded ceramic mugs, mug ornaments, and various houseware products.
If you have an affected product, Health Canada advises you to immediately stop using it and return it to Indigo for a full refund.
As of January 20, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
