Attention all all-day breakfast lovers! Super popular pancake joint, IHOP has just announced that it’s expanding within Canada and opening locations in Toronto.

The chain announced that it’s opening 15 Toronto locations over the next 7 years and hiring around 900 employees.

IHOP is owned by Dine Brands International and it was also announced that the company had reached an agreement with Minhas Holdings, to bring the IHOP brand to the Greater Toronto Area.

“IHOP is a strong brand with a huge fan base around the world, and we are excited to expand its presence in Canada,” said Saeed Minhas, CEO of Minhas Holdings in a release. “We can’t wait for guests in the Greater Toronto Area to experience the brand’s warm hospitality and commitment to quality in its breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu offerings.”

IHOP, also known as the International House Of Pancakes has been blessing folks with all things breakfast since 1958.

Although it’ll be new for us in Toronto, the chain has been in Canada since 1969.

There are currently IHOP locations in provinces like British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario in the Niagara Falls area.

“Canada was the first international market we opened for IHOP back in 1969, making this year our 50th anniversary in the country,” said Steve Joyce, Chief Executive Officer of Dine Brands Global.

As of December 2018 there were 1,831 IHOP restaurants around the world including those in all 50 states, Mexico, Thailand, India, UAE, and more.

In addition to the jobs (and pancakes) that this expansion will provide, the new locations are expected to contribute up to $15 million to the construction industry.

In case you don’t live in, or near, the GTA, you can still get your pancake fix as IHOP is opening 5 new locations in the Maritimes with the first set to open in Moncton this December.

At this time, there’s been no word yet on where these 15 new IHOP restaurants will be located.
