Thousands Of Fans Flooded Square One For James Charles Over The Weekend

Last weekend was a big weekend for beauty fans in the GTA.

The popular L.A.-based beauty brand Morphe hosted a grand opening event at its first Canadian store ever, which is located at Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga.

While the opening itself is a huge deal — the beauty brand is majorly popular amongst beauty gurus and makeup artists, and is heralded for its high-quality and affordability — many fans were excited for the special guest Morphe was bringing to town.

Beauty guru James Charles made an appearance at Square One shopping centre this weekend.

For those who don’t know, James Charles went viral back in 2016 after he retook his grad photos to ensure a poppin’ highlight. After that, he became CoverGirl’s first male ambassador, and has rocketed to fame in the beauty community since then. Today, the beauty vlogger has a massive following of sisters, with over 13 million subscribers on YouTube.

In promotion of his own collection with Morphe, Sister James has been touring stores across the world to meet and greet with fans. So, of course, it was only natural for him to make an appearance at Morphe’s Canadian launch.

Massive crowds are known to show up for Sister James, but the Morphe Square One grand opening made records.

According to a tweet by James, over 10,000 sisters showed up for the event on Saturday, January 13th, making it the largest crowd a James Charles appearance has ever drawn. While Square One is used to seeing huge lineups and crowds for notable store openings, the crowd that showed up for Morphe and Sister James was unbelievable.

While the official event didn’t start until 11 a.m., many sisters braved the cold to snag a spot inside. Fans flooded the area in front of the Morphe store, and some fans were even lucky enough to meet the beauty guru one-on-one.
