It’s a sad time for McCafé lovers out there. McDonald’s has announced that it’ll be ending the McCafé Rewards program next month.
Officially ending in August 2022, the golden arches chain said in a release that it “will begin to transition to hot beverage cups without McCafé® Rewards stickers and cards.”
Yup, that means you will no longer be able to collect stickers from the cups and trade them in for a free beverage.
Some spots across Canada have actually implemented this back in October 2021 including Manitoba, and cities in Ontario like Dryden, Fort Frances, and Kenora.
The good news is that there’s still time to redeem your rewards, the final day to do so is December 31, 2023.
Discontinuing the physical McCafé program is meant to shift priority onto the MyMcDonald’s Reward on the company’s app. So, just like most things these days, it’s heading online.
