Miele Has Opened World's First Experience Centre in Yorkdale

The world’s leading manufacturer of premium home appliances Miele has stepped into the future of retail with its first-in-the-world experience centre located at Yorkdale.

The German brand came up with a retail concept that is nothing like you’ve seen before. Described as “digital first, but human at heart,” the centre offers an interactive experiential component and expert advice. It also carries the brand’s full range of domestic appliances that can be purchased right at the store. As part of the interactive experience, guests can try freshly cooked treats from croissants to homemade soups and pasta, all made in the store’s kitchen area.

“Yorkdale’s Miele Experience Centre is highly interactive — visitors are encouraged to try out appliances ranging from laundry and floor-care appliances to kitchen products through to ‘Smart Home’,” reports Retail Insider. “It almost feels like a technology playground while at the same time, being a retail store where customers can buy the products.”

In the future, Miele has plans to open 30-40 experience centres worldwide.

“The experience we will give our customers will change the way people look at buying appliances and will set a new standard within our industry”, said Yves Dalcourt, President of Miele Canada.
