Miniso will Open its First Ontario Location this Weekend

The highly anticipated Japanese retail giant Miniso will be opening its first Ontario location this weekend at Pickering Town Centre.

We’ve been patiently waiting and luckily, the big day is almost here! Japanese retail giant Miniso — aka the new chain that’ll give Dollarama a run for its money — is opening its first Ontario location this weekend!

On Saturday, October 21, Miniso will be opening its second Canadian location at Pickering Town Centre. The first location opened earlier this year in Vancouver. The store promises to bring shoppers a variety of affordable, quality goods, from electronics and cosmetics, to home furnishings, kitchenware and more, providing Canadians on-trend items for less.

“Pickering Town Centre is thrilled to welcome Miniso to our growing community. There is no store like it in the GTA, and we are excited to be the first to open — and shop — the new Ontario location,” says Lorna Murphy, Marketing Director, Pickering Town Centre. “It’s no doubt going to be an extremely valuable addition for our customers as another way to shop ‘In Town’ at PTC just in time for the busy holiday shopping season.”

From what you can see in the video below, Miniso has a very similar aesthetic to MUJI and Uniqlo; bright interiors, precisely organized walls and fixtures, and a vast amount of product that come in a wide variety of colours.

With plans to open as many as 500 Canadian stores over the next few years, Miniso is sure to become go-to. Take a peek at some of Miniso’s offerings below.
