Gotstyle was founded in 2005 by Melissa Austria, a menswear industry veteran.

Feeling that Toronto was lacking options when it came to menswear stores she developed the lifestyle concept store Gotstyle. Her first location was on King Street. The store was on the second floor and you had to buzz to get in. Once you were in, you were welcomed with an array of clothing for weekend casual, date night clothes and business wear. Two lounge seating areas, flat screen TV’s, a DJ booth and the first in-store barber shop and full spa for men completed the store.

As rents skyrocketed on King Street, they moved to a street-level location at Bathurst and Wellington and then opened our second location in the Historic Distillery District, a 7,000 SQ foot men’s and woman’s shopping emporium.

Gotstyle has recently closed their Bathurst location, announcing their lease price has once again skyrocketed, however their Distillery District store is still open and thriving.

Melissa says, “We have plans to do more pop-ups across the city, and disrupt the styling industry with a new way for men to shop… details coming soon!”.

The Distillery location has both men and women brands including custom tailoring and styling. They carry a vast number of suits and formal wear for men, casual wear, shoes and accessories. They also have a variety of items for women.

Some of the brands include: Zanerobe, Tiger of Sweden, Selected Homme and more which can be found here.

“We believe that dressing well shouldn’t be intimidating or elitist and strive to educate and inspire guys on dressing better, we offer different brands for different body types, concentrating on local and international brands at an opening luxury price point.” – Melissa Austria.

Their slogan says it all: dress better, do better.
