Children are our future and in order for the world to be a more understanding, loving place, it's important for them to see themselves and others represented in a positive light. Not only in the media, but in the clothing, books, and toys that surround them as well.

Kids Swag is an online Canadian company founded by Kim West. As a mother of two, she wanted to ensure that her daughters grew up with love for themselves and life, which is something she felt could be reinforced by seeing positive images of children that look like them.

West saw a gap in the market. so in 2016, she began Kids Swag to provide parents with a more diverse selection of lifestyle products.

West knew that companies with a wider, more diverse range of products that represented black children existed, but she wanted to make it easier for parents to find them. Kids Swag was created for parents to build environments that represented their own children's beauty.

Today, the online marketplace features a large variety of different products.

From kitchenware like plates and apparel that feature black superheroes and astronauts to Nana Dolls, Tru-Colour Band-Aids, swim caps, and bonnets, West has curated an amazing range of products that aren't easily accessible in big box stores.

As well as being a destination for products that offer kids and toddlers more positive representation, Kids Swag acts as a resource for integrating mindful representation into your child's life.

Whether you're reading posts on the Kids Swag blog or engaging with the Kids Swag community on Facebook or Instagram, West has created a safe space for parents to learn and interact with like-minded people.
