Star Wars Inspired Apparel You'll Actually Want to Wear

As one of the most popular movie franchises ever, Star Wars has garnered an immense fan base of die-hard enthusiasts across the globe. The latest installment of the blockbuster saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, hit theatres last month and if you’re a major fan, you probably already got toy lightsabers and Chewbacca masks.

While those novelty items are fun to own, they aren’t things that we can necessarily use or wear in our daily lives. However, many fashion brands have come out to aid in our obsession, creating Star Wars apparel that goes well beyond the graphic tee.

Here are a few Star Wars fashion collaborations you’ll actually want to shop.

Rag & Bone

The Rag & Bone x Star Wars collection is explicitly edgy and fresh when it comes to movie-fashion collabs. The line re-invented many of the brand’s signature styles with attributes from the overall franchise. Although the collection does feel explicitly Star Wars, it also maintains those Rag & Bone design tenets making the line very fashion forward. The collection includes limited-edition high-end jackets, hoodies, pants, shoes, wallets, T-shirts and more. While many of the items have already sold out, you’ll find a few highly collectable options still available at the Disney Shop.

ASOS

The ASOS x Star Wars collection is much different from other Star Wars fashion collaborations. The collection is in the form of streetwear and rather than having the collection be inspired by individual character and their features or associated colour schemes, the ASOS collection comes from the helmets of X-Wing fighter pilots and the unique Aurebesh language used in the Star Wars universe. The result is cool and edgy and far from a classic graphic T-shirt.

Clarks

British-based shoe company Clarks got into the Star Wars spirit with its “Force of Nature” collection. Comprised of six collaborative styles for women and girls, the collection focuses on championing female power and authenticity. Inspired by Rey, the “Force of Nature” shoes empower their wearer with an advanced footbed structure, created to achieve extreme comfort, push flexibility and champion durability. The shoes feature an exclusive Rey heel detail, the iconic Resistance symbol and collectable packaging.

Christian Louboutin

In a high-fashion collaboration, iconic shoe designer Christian Louboutin linked up with Disney and Lucasfilm for a one-of-a-kind collaboration on four heel styles. Each pair of heels epitomizes the spirit of one of the four of The Last Jedi’s heroines including Rey, Vice Admiral Amilyn Holodo, Captain Phasma and Rose Tico. Each pair has been signed by Louboutin himself as well as the actress who plays each shoe’s namesake. The collection was auctioned on Charity Buzz with all proceeds benefiting the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Columbia Sportswear

Portland, Oregon outdoor retailer Columbia Sportswear is no stranger to Star Wars collaborations. For last year’s Rogue One, Columbia unveiled three premium, limited-edition jackets inspired by the characters in the film. To much success, the retailer created a second collaboration this past December with its Echo Base collection, inspired by The Empire Strikes Back. Priced at $400, the three high-performance jackets – aptly named the Leia Organa, the Luke Skywalker and the Han Solo – reference costumes worn at the beginning of the film, which takes place on the ice planet, Hoth.

STATE Bags

STATE Bags is a Brooklyn-born, one-for-one backpack and accessories company and has previously partnered on philanthropic initiatives with the likes of Chance the Rapper and Jessica Alba’s The Honest Co. The company’s Star Wars collection includes exclusive backpacks inspired by major friendships like that between the Stormtroopers and Darth Vader, Princess Leia and the Ewoks, and C-3PO and R2-D2. For every STATE Bag sold, one filled with school supplies is provided for a child in need in the United States, so you can now feed your Star Wars obsession and support a good cause at the same time.

Nixon

Watchmaker Nixon has returned with yet another Star Wars collection to coincide with the film’s release. This collection focuses exclusively on The Last Jedi and plays homage to characters like Rey, Luke Skywalker, the Stormtrooper Executioner and the Praetorian Guard. All four of the watches are based on models already produced by Nixon and loved by its wearers, but now with a Star Wars twist through their detailing and colouring.
