Finally, Canadians will be able to shop Glossier in person on February 23 at Sephora Canada!

The beauty brand has created a cult-like following and for good reason.

It’s launched super popular and viral products like the Cloud Paint and the Boy Brow.

It first started out with just four products back in 2014, and now spans all beauty categories like skincare, makeup, body, fragrance, and even a selection of apparel!

When it comes to makeup and beauty products, shopping online can be a bit tricky, and up until this partnership with Sephora Canada, Canadians weren’t able to shop the brand in person as there are no storefronts in the country. Which makes this launch all the more exciting!

There’s high anticipation for this partnership as Sephora Executive Vice President and Global Chief Merchandising Officer Artemis Patrick said in an email to Retail Dive, “As one of the most searched brands on Sephora.com we know our customers are going to be beyond excited to find their Glossier must-have products online, the Sephora App, and in our stores, while unlocking all the perks of our Beauty Insider program has to offer.”

Glossier will be available on Sephora’s website, app, and in most locations in Canada on February 23 – allowing you to touch, feel, and explore the products before you buy!

10 Of The Best Selling Beauty Products At Sephora

Ah Sephora, the mecca of beauty counters. It’s easily the one place (next to Winners or Whole Foods) where women and men alike can come with the aspirations of buying just the one item they need. This is always the goal but we’ve all been guilty of leaving the store only to realize we just spent almost a month’s rent on beauty and skincare items we didn’t know we needed (but obviously did). But alas, we’re here to tell you that there might actually come a day when you enter the store only to find out that Sephora simply doesn’t carry the products or brands you’re lusting after — shocker right?

Read on to find out 6 of the best beauty and skincare brands that you can’t actually get in-store at your neighbourhood Sephora store.

Pixi

brands you cant get at sephora
Instagram/@myglowjourney

Chances are you’ve stumbled upon Pixi Beauty at your local drugstore, and if you’re anything like us, you’re obsessed. The brand’s lineup of skincare and makeup products, including its famous “Glow Tonic”, are a must-have in makeup bags around the globe and for a good reason. Each product is cruelty-free, vegetarian, and full of hard-working ingredients at insanely good prices.

Glossier

brands you cant get at sephora
Instagram/@karolinakristina

Honestly, it’s probably for the best that Glossier isn’t carried in Sephora, otherwise, we would be blowing our paycheques on the brands long list of cult beauty favourites every other week. As of now, you can only shop the brand in-person at its New York and LA-based boutiques or online, but it definitely pays off as the skincare obsessed still can’t get enough of the brand’s iconic minimalistic vibe, millennial pink packaging, and killer lineup of products.

Innisfree

brands you cant get at sephora
Instagram/@innisfreecanada

For the beauty buffs that love natural brands and products, Innisfree is definitely a must-try. This popular Korean beauty brand carries products that are bursting with natural benefits from Korea’s Jeju Island. The brand just opened its first Canadian location in Yorkdale Mall and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Innisfree is known for its “plant-to-bottle” philosophy and its affordable prices. It’s here that you’ll find bath and body products, ranging from skincare to haircare, fragrances, beauty tools, makeup, and even sunscreen.

NYX Cosmetics

brands you cant get at sephora
Instagram/@nyxcosmetics_canada

It’s no surprise that NYX Cosmetics is one of the most popular makeup brands available today that’s shopped by both makeup artists and consumers alike. This is simply because every item in the brands impressive repertoire performs like a high-end brand without resulting in you having to break the bank. Known for its beautiful colours and variety of products that work incredibly well, trust us when we say you’ll instantly become obsessed with NYX after your first encounter with the brand, which now has professional makeup stores throughout the country and is carried in a number of drugstores.

E.l.f.

brands you cant get at sephora
Instagram/@elfcosmetics

Another drugstore-beauty fave is e.l.f Cosmetics, a cruelty-free brand that has incredible budget-friendly makeup products. Seriously, we’re talking $6 for blush and $12 for hydrating face creams. But don’t let the price points fool you. The colour payoff and long-lasting nature of the makeup products are easily comparable to department store brands.

Skinsei

brands you cant get at sephora
Instagram/@skinsei.skincare

If you find you’re unsure of what skincare routine you should be following, Skinsei does all the heavy lifting for you by creating the perfect product protocol for you. All you have to do is answer a few questions about your skin and lifestyle online, and the brand will then send you a three or five-piece skincare routine that’s been completely customized for your skin.

When it comes to navigating sensitive skin, trying different makeup and skincare products can be tough. A simple swipe of foundation or a dab of blush might apply just fine, or it could trigger a breakout, rosacea, redness, or eczema, which are all conditions that are most commonly associated with sensitive skin. But rather than being afraid of giving some of the most popular beauty and skincare brands a try, we wanted to share some of our favourite brands that are great for sensitive skin. These brands carry products that are free of ingredients that might lead to a flare-up or reaction, including fragrances, dyes, preservatives, sulphates, and more. Instead, they’re infused with ingredients that will calm, soothe, and leave your skin feeling, well, good.

If you have sensitive skin, read on to learn about our favourite brands to try that won’t add to your skincare woes, rather, they’ll leave your skin looking and feeling better.

Glossier

best-brands-for-sensitive-skin
Instagram/@char.lotte_slater

We’ve been huge fans of cult-fave Glossier since day one, and we’ve incorporated many of the NYC-based brand’s products into our daily beauty routines, including the Boy Brow, Milk Jelly Face Wash, and Cloud Paint. Every product is appropriate for all skin types, have been dermatologist tested, and they’re hypoallergenic, non-irritating, and paraben-free. But above all,  what we love is that every product works incredibly well and is gentle enough to not irritate your skin. Not to mention the packaging is a millennial’s dream come true.

RMS Beauty

best brands for sensitive skin
Instagram/@ohmycream

For non-toxic, food-grade makeup that delivers great results, RMS Beauty is a great pick. What we love about RMS Beauty, for starters, is that all products are made with organic ingredients in their natural state, allowing their living, healing attributes to penetrate and rejuvenate the skin. But more importantly, not only will you find an impressive selection of skincare products like beauty oils, skin balms, and even beauty supplements, you’ll also be able to stock up on all your makeup essentials including mascara, lipsticks, eyeshadows, luminizers, coverups, and more.

Juice Beauty

best brands for sensitive skin
Instagram/@juicebeauty

This California brand crafts its products using a base of cold-pressed liquids that are then combined with plant-derived pigments like aubergine fruit extract, red seaweed extract and rose petal powder. This powerful yet effective combination creates Juice Beauty’s 100% vegan and toxin-free range of beauty and skincare products that are great for those dealing with sensitive skin. Not only does Juice Beauty carry your beauty shelf must-haves like lip crayons, mascaras, shadow sticks, and cream blushes, but it also carries award-winning skincare products. Some of our current faves include the Signal Peptides Firming Serum, a lightweight micro-serum formulated with certified organic ingredients and firming peptides designed to restore the appearance of firmness and skin elasticity, and the newly launched Stem Cellular Vinifera Replenishing Oil, a fast-absorbing facial oil that works as a nighttime hydrator and as a daytime primer.

bareMinerals

best brands for sensitive skin
Instagram/@thebeautyendeavor

Due to the lack of parabens, binders, and fillers, mineral makeup is hypoallergenic, which makes it a top choice for sensitive skin and those dealing with acne concerns, rosacea, psoriasis, and eczema and whether you’re dealing with one or all of those concerns, we highly recommend giving bareMinerals a try. bareMinerals carries all the skincare essentials including award-winning moisturizers, serums, cleansers, and masks to makeup for your face, eyes, lips, and even brushes.

Physician’s Formula

best brands for sensitive skin
Instagram/@physiciansformula

If you’re in the market for a beauty and skincare brand that those with sensitive skin can conveniently shop for at the drugstore, let us introduce you to Physician’s Formula. Physicians Formula has been long known as the ‘sensitive skin’ brand, but the truth is, that the brand is great for anyone who is conscious of the ingredients ingested through skin absorption. This full-range beauty and skincare line features organic, natural and earth-friendly ingredients, and is tested for maximum performance. From BB and CC creams and loose and pressed powders, to collagen moisturizers and eye creams, Physician’s Formula has every product thinkable to treat your skin care needs.

Pai Skincare

best brands for sensitive skin
Instagram/@paiskincare

When Pai Skincare founder Sarah Brown’s skin went from calm and clear, to irritated and acne-prone overnight, she quickly learned that even options claiming to be “hypoallergenic” and “organic” were still filled with synthetics and irritants. She decided to create her very own effective yet gentle skin line that wouldn’t irritate those with even the most sensitive skin. Pai’s range of cleansers, moisturizers, oils, serums, toners, and masks are free from all known irritants and instead are made only with effective, nourishing, and calming ingredients that soothe troubled skin. This includes natural ingredients like rosehip oil, orange blossom, and wild oats.

If you’re like me, then you hate packing with a pure passion. How could I be expected to know what beauty products while I travel? I detest packing and decision making in general, so I end up overpacking and bringing anything and everything I think I’ll need with me. Because I basically bring my whole beauty and skincare arsenal with me, I often have zero room left in my suitcase for clothes and shoes. If you can relate, and let’s be honest, I’m hoping that a few of you can, you probably need to switch over from bringing full-size products with you. Nowadays, there are so many of our fave mini beauty products that are perfect for travel.

Here are 7 mini beauty products to pack in your travel bag!

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask, $34

mini travel beauty

Instagram/@summerfridays

Doing a full skincare routine on the plane is all the rage these days, and as ridiculous as it might seem, it’s actually a good idea. The air on planes is recycled and it’s known for being drying and stale. Combat the dehydration and slather on a quality moisturizer and there’s none better than Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. Because this product is a leave on mask, it rubs right in so the whole plane thankfully won’t know you’re wearing a face mask.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir Mini, $24

mini travel beauty

Instagram/@taraleydon

Whether you’re travelling by plane, train, or car, your skin will need a little revitalizing whilst you’re on your trip. Instead of lugging around a large heavy bottle of your fave fact mist, opt for a lighter version instead. The cult fave Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a brilliant way to freshen up after a long travel day.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator Mini, $21

mini travel beauty

Instagram/@dermalogicamx

Just because you’re on holiday, it doesn’t mean you can skimp on your skincare. Don’t go without a good exfoliation – just pack a mini version of your fave. My go-to is Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant and I’m thrilled it comes in a travel-friendly size because travelling can wreak absolute havoc on your skin

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt Mini, $25

If you’re heading on a beach vacay, sweat, and sunscreen can result in lots of build up on your scalp, so packing Christophe Robin’s iconic scalp scrub is a great idea. This scalp exfoliator cleanses and soothes sensitive, flaky, and oily scalps.

Glossier Milk Jelly Cleanser, $11

http://bit.ly/2PD7ax6

Glossier

Even if you’re bringing your whole beauty cabinet with you on your trip, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a multitasking product. Glossier’s Milk Jelly Cleanser can be used as a makeup remover when used on dry skin, or as a cleanser that cleans deep on wet skin. What’s even better is it’s cruely-free, vegan, dermatologist tested, and ophthalmologist tested so it’s safe to use around the eyes.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, $58

mini travel beauty

Instagram/@heyitscutiee

With baggage weight limitations in effect, it doesn’t make sense to waste space bringing your full size foundation in its heavy glass bottle. However, don’t think that I’m expecting you to travel without your essentials. It pays to buy a mini version of your go-to foundation and save it for travel days ahead. Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation is a fave for a reason as it’s weightless and gives skin a gorgeous, radiant finish.

Rahua Voluminous Travel Shampoo, $12

mini travel beauty

Instagram/@rahuabeauty

There’s something about travelling that just deflates your hair. If you need a bit of a pick me up in the haircare department, try a volumizing shampoo. This travel size shampoo from Rahua delivers noticable volume and body while nourishing strands with ingredients like omega-3s and rahua oil.

Glossier Play Is Finally Here And Here’s What’s In Our Cart

Beauty trends come and go but healthy and clear skin is always in. I’m not saying that anyone with acne prone skin should hide inside until their skin clears but if you’re looking for some (literal) solutions for your spots, then this is for you. Acne can be a result of multiple things from hormones and pollution, to stress. Personally, I’ve struggled with acne for as long as I can remember. Even as a young adult, my acne has since improved but it’s still something I’m insecure about. These products for acne prone skin are all ones that I’ve tried and tested and honestly, they all worked wonders for me and my spotty skin.

Keep reading for 9 products that’ll help keep acne at bay!

Dermalogica Active Clearing Line, $55 – $89

Let me be honest: I have never met a Dermalogica product I didn’t like, and as a beauty editor, I’ve tried a lot of different skincare products from a lot of different brands. From cleansers and serums, to eye creams and moisturizers, Dermalogica is legit and 100% worth the money. The brands Active Clearing Line is also one to know about if acne is something you’re struggling with. Get your hands on the Clearing Skin Wash for a gentle cleanse that calms the skin while (safely) drying out any spots.

Follow that with Dermalogica’s new AGE Bright Clearing Serum and your acne prone skin will have no idea what’s coming. Perfect for young adults, the serum not only prevents breakouts but it also works to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Saving the day is the AGE Bright Spot Fader which reduces the size of active breakouts but also fades post-acne scars or marks. For an extra dose of anti-acne magic, use Dermalogica’s Overnight Clearing Gel to work while you catch your zzz’s. Formulated with tea tree oil to soothe the skin and salicylic acid and meadowsweet to slough off pore-clogging skin cells, this miracle gel will work to stop future breakouts.

Sisley Paris Gentle Cleansing Gel with Tropical Resins, $130

products for acne prone skin

Instagram/@self.skin

Believe it or not, one of the main ingredients in Sisley’s luxe cleansing gel is marshmallow extract which is actually great for moisturizing. This cleanser is soap-free so it won’t dry out your complexion and it’s also formulated with Tropical Resins that work to minimize impurities and rid the skin of excess sebum. After just one use, you’ll notice how clean and fresh your skin feels and I even noticed an improvement in radiance and luminosity, too! For an extra boost of anti-acne magic, pair this cleanser with Sisley’s Intensive Serum with Tropical Resins which purify the skin and salicylic acid that unclogs pores to prevent future breakouts.

Kate Somerville EradiKate Daily Foaming Cleanser, $49

You know you’re a skincare addict when you have one cleanser for the morning and one for night. This Kate Somerville cleanser has been my go-to for years and I use it at night after a day in full-face makeup. What I love about this cleanser is that it’s non-drying and is made with sulphur (weird but it works) that reduces blemishes and draws out impurities to unclog congested pores.

May Lindstrom The Problem Solver, $129

Even as a skincare junkie, there are times where I’m naughty and I sleep in my makeup. Whenever this happens, I immediately apply May Lindstrom’s Problem Solver mask to counteract all the damage I’ve done. While this mask is on the pricier side of things, it comes in a powder form and you only need a tablespoon at a time so a little truly goes a long way. Once activated with water, the blend of ingredients like charcoal, and cacao instantly work to draw out all the nasties from your skin.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, $23

It takes approximately 4-6 weeks for a new skincare product to show its effects so don’t expect magic to happen overnight, except in this case. Combat active spots with Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion that honestly is a game changer. Before bed, dip a cotton swab into the pink sediment at the bottom of the bottle and apply to any active pimples and you’ll wake up noticing that any zits you did have, have either magically shrunk or dried up completely.

Glossier Solution, $29

When Glossier’s Solution launched a while back, there was a lot of hype. With popular internet brands, it’s often the branding and packaging can come first instead of the product, but not here. This chemical exfoliator isn’t for the faint of heart — this baby means serious business as it’s formulated with a 10% blend of three acid groups: Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), and Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA). Just a few pumps on a cotton round will give you enough to slough away dead skin cells that will reveal a fresh complexion. After 4 weeks, 94% of folks said their skin is clearer — who doesn’t want that?

This funky lip vinyl is so intriguing and had me clicking ‘add to cart’ pretty much instantly as I landed on the page. Even as someone who doesn’t rock a statement lip that often, I’m so into the bright orange-y shade Casino. What I really like about this product just from reading about it is that it’s buildable so if you want a stand-out lip moment, you just keep going until you’re feeling your fantasy!

Niteshine

If you’re like me, you have little to no knowledge in the highlighter department. I’m all about a glowy look but whenever I try to get all holographic, I end up looking shiny and sweaty— not cute! Glossier Play’s Niteshine captured my interest because Glossier’s known for their natural approach to makeup so why wouldn’t their highlighter be the same? This product blends easily into the skin and it’s buildable so you can get yourself as glowed up as you like.

Thought eyeliner comes in only black and brown? Think again because Glossier Play’s new Colorslide eye pencil comes in a whopping 14 shades. These unique shades will have your peepers standing out and taking centre stage like never before. I’m tempted to pick up not just one but 3 of these babies. My top faves are Magic Carpet, Cash Salad, and Jumbo. Time to practice my graphic liner skills!
