Each year since 2012, burgers have had a week strictly dedicated to them in restaurants across Canada. Dubbed Le Burger Week, close to 400 restaurants welcomed burger lovers in six different provinces to discover the country’s best burgers.
While the week has come and gone — Le Burger Week took place the first week of September — burger lovers can now cut through the mediocre and head straight to the best. Of the week, awards in categories of “People’s Choice,” “Most Creative,” “Healthiest Burger,” and “Judges’ Choice” were given, and we’ve got the list for you to eat your way through.
People’s Choice: Chimac Chicken Burger
Two fried chicken patties, olives, eggplant, cabbage, fried onion & mushroom, romaine lettuce, miracle whip, house-made special butter, house-made balsamic sauce, house-made Alfredo sauce & house-made blueberry jam. Get it at Chimac Pub & Fried Chicken, 500 Queen St. West, Toronto.
Judge’s Choice: Calypso Burger
Desirous bacon, jealous avocado, envious mango and covetous cheddar on an 8oz Grade Canadian beef patty. Get it at The Yellow Griffin Pub, 2202 Bloor St. West, Toronto.
Most Creative Burger: Farmhouse Country Burger
Ground veal patty, Budweiser Beer battered onion rings, aged white cheddar, bourbon BBQ sauce, bacon, lettuce and pickles. Get it at The Kennedy Public House, 2199 Bloor St. West, Toronto.
Healthiest Burger: Spicy Salmon Sushi Burger
Sushi rice, fresh salmon, avocado, seaweed salad, wasabi beans, spicy mayo and BBQ EEl sauce. Get it at Noka Sushi, 513 Bloor St. West, Toronto.
