Looking to update your workout gear? You’ve come to the right place. Although athletic retailer Lululemon can seem pricey, there are ways to shop smart and really get your money’s worth. Between an amazing return policy, price matching, weekly sales, and more, quality workout gear is that much more attainable. Take a deep breath in, and then out, because your next shopping trip at Lululemon will be totally stress-free once you read these shopping secrets from previous employees.

Take a look at these Lululemon shopping secrets that you need to know for the next time you shop.

Lululemon adds new product to its website Tuesday Afternoons.

If you’re looking to treat yourself and splurge on that new, new, according to Agent Athletics, Lululemon adds new products to their website’s “What’s New” section on Tuesdays in the afternoon or evening. It won’t be discounted, but the retailer always starts with limited stock to drive up demand, which means the item will most likely sell out. We suggest that you don’t wait if it’s something you desperately want and need.

The return policy is pretty lenient, even if it’s outside the return window

Spending over $100 on a pair of leggings can seem reckless, however, Lululemon’s return policy is known to be pretty lenient. The brand will take almost anything back, even if it’s outside the return window, often offering store credit. The retailer clearly stands behind its products and sincerely cares about quality assurance and customer satisfaction.

Lululemon’s “We Made too Much” sale always begins Thursday morning

Did someone say sale?! According to The Krazy Coupon Lady, Lululemon has its “We Made too Much” sale weekly, beginning every Thursday morning. This includes online and in-store discounts and apparently, the best time to shop online is 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. online, and mid-morning if you’re shopping in-store.

Sold out items can be purchased direct from any store in the country, plus free shipping

Waiting for something to go on sale can seem like a dangerous waiting game, since popular sizes will always sell out first. If an item is sold out in your size, go online and select “find in store”. Next, call the store (within your country) and ask them to send it to your local Lululemon location. You will pay for the item over the phone and receive the in-store sale price.

Lululemon will always price match if items in-store appear cheaper online

Lululemon doesn’t like to mislead its customers. That’s why, if you come across an item in-store that is cheaper online, the store will price match no questions asked, as stated on The Krazy Coupon Lady. The same goes for if you purchase something online, that appears cheaper in store. Simply bring in the online receipt and the folks there will honour whichever price is lower.

Lululemon Offers free hemming and repairs – even if you purchased used items

Lululemon offers complimentary hemming on tops and bottoms, and you don’t even need to show any tags or a receipt. Even if you purchased the item used, the retailer will still do this alteration if requested. Another shopping secret is that Lululemon will also mend ripped seams or holes, meaning your leggings will truly last you a lifetime.

If you change your mind, shipping on online returns is always free

One of the biggest downfalls of online shopping is having to pay for return shipping on an item that doesn’t fit. Luckily for you, Lululemon not only offers free shipping, but also free return shipping. All online orders come with a prepaid return label so you can rest easy knowing you’ll eventually get the right size, even if it wasn’t right on the first try.

Enter your phone number at checkout so you can make returns without a receipt

Receipts can be easily misplaced but Lululemon allows returns without one if you follow these steps. Make sure you have an account online and that you give your phone number to the cashier upon checkout. This will make a record of your transaction, so if you lose your receipt, you won’t have to worry about not being able to get your money back.

Black Items Are The Hardest To Find On Sale

You’ll rarely find black leggings, tanks, bras, on sale or at the outlets. With that being said, if you do find these sought-after pieces on sale, we suggest you purchase them right away! This also leads to the point that if you really love a pair of black pants or leggings, it may be a good idea to bite the bullet and make the full-price purchase.

Peloton is in some hot waters as of this Monday. Beloved activewear brand, Lululemon, has filed a lawsuit against the exercise brand over patent infringement of Peloton’s new apparel collection.

It’s claimed by Lululemon in court documents that Peloton is “infringing on multiple design patents” and selling knock-offs of its bras and leggings.

The famous Lululemon Align Pant is one of the products in question. The brand alleges that one of the Peloton styles is an “imitation of the Align pant, with a similar waistband and stitching.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by lululemon (@lululemon)

All of these events took place after Peloton decided to end its co-branding agreement with Lululemon, to create its own apparel label, Peloton Apparel.

Lululemon first sent Peloton a cease-and-desist letter on November 11, and asked that “Peloton immediately stop selling its copy-cat products, which infringe Lululemon’s design patent and trade dress rights.”

Since this wasn’t resolved, Lululemon then filed a lawsuit.

The Vancouver founded brand states in court documents, “Unlike innovators such as Lululemon, Peloton did not spend the time, effort and expense to create an original product line. Instead, Peloton imitated several of Lululemon’s innovative designs and sold knock-offs of Lululemon’s products, claiming them as its own.”

A post shared by lululemon (@lululemon)

Lululemon claims that the Peloton designs will confuse customers as they believe the items are so similar. On the other hand, Peloton contends that both companies are so prominent and well-known in the market that it would take away any kind of confusion.

We don’t have word on a resolution just yet, but be on the lookout for any updates!

Lululemon is in, and Hudson’s Bay is out. The Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee have just announced that athletic apparel brand lululemon is the new Official Outfitter of Team Canada.

This news has rocked the Canadian apparel industry. HBC has been part of dressing Team Canada since 2005, and actually took the spot over from Roots.

We’ll see the change in branding beginning with the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2022.

This partnership will last at least until the Los Angeles 2028 Games.

Calvin McDonald, CEO, lululemon, said in a press release, “Supporting these incredible athletes as they prepare to compete on the world’s largest sporting stage is a privilege. Through this partnership, all of us at lululemon are honoured to play our part to inspire, unite and transform the world through sport and share in this excitement alongside all of Canada.”

Holding the title of Official Outfitter, lululemon will be designing all of Team Canada’s apparel and accessories for athletes, coaches, and Mission Team members.

You’ll be able to view the collections during the entirety of the Games which include the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, during the events, media opportunities, and everything in between.

Everyone’s fave go-to athleticwear brand is making major waves in the sustainability department. Lululemon has announced that it will be launching two new sustainable initiatives in May!

One of the initiatives is a limited-edition collection called Earth Dye that’s made with eco-friendly materials including solution-dyed nylon, recycled polyester, and certified rubber materials.

Next, the brand will launch its first-ever re-commerce program called ‘Like New’. Like New will extend the life of products and have test runs in Texas and California before expanding.

Instagram/@orangetheoryla

Calvin McDonald, CEO of lululemon, said in a release, “lululemon is actively working to help create a healthier future, and we are focused on meeting the goals detailed in our Impact Agenda, including making 100 percent of our products with sustainable materials and end-of-use solutions by 2030.”

Lululemon’s Impact Agenda was released in 2020 to show where it stands with sustainability and outline its own vision to minimize environmental impact.

Not only is the Agenda is a great resource for consumers interested in understanding the brand’s mission, but it can be used to keep lululemon accountable.

Unfortunately, we’ve seen so many store closures and bankruptcies within the last year, including of some of our favourite Canadian brands. However, not all retailers have been largely affected by the pandemic in a negative way, and have actually increased profits immensely.

Roots Corp. has profited so greatly from online sales that it actually neutralized any costs incurred from the pandemic and store closures.

The retailer saw an increase of 60% in it’s e-commerce sales which equals to $12.3 million in the fourth quarter.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Johnathan (@johnathanfong)

Roots Chief Executive, Meghan Roach, spoke about the success of Roots during a conference call, “We’ve been spending a lot of time this past year really learning more about our customers, their lives, the way they live, and what they want from us from a product perspective.”

Even though the company has had such success throughout these trying times, Meghan Roach understands that around 60% of Roots customers still want to be able to go into a store to try items on. So, there’s going to be quite a large focus to continue brick-and-mortar shops as well.

With Roots’ sales and profits increasing, it seems as though the brand is headed in the right direction.

Instagram/

Lululemon is another one of Canada’s retailers that had quite a successful year with an increase in profits. The brand actually exceeded its sales estimates and obtained double-digit sales growth in both its men’s and women’s sections.

The athletic brand’s revenue shot up to $1.73 billion which is a 24% improvement from the previous year and growth from its sales goal of $1.66 billion.

Online sales spiked 92% since the start of the pandemic, which is of course due to the fact that customers are staying at home and therefore online shopping.

Not only does Lululemon sell all of the apparel and accessories that you need for a sweat sesh, but it now owns the fitness equipment brand, Mirror, which makes working out at home easier.

So, it’s safe to say that with this additional stream of revenue, Lululemon is expecting sales to continue to soar.
