As the leaves begin to change and the temperature slowly drops, it’s time to start dressing for most fashion lovers’ favourite season of the year: fall. Traditionally, fall fashion consists of dark hues, layered silhouettes, and textured fabrics – these are what we like to call “uniform trends,” as they come back every autumn without fail, and act as a foundation for fall dressing. Then, we have regular fashion trends. Styles at the peak of consumer popularity, are more likely to ebb and flow.
This fall, an array of fashion trends have already been established, as seen in recent fashion week’s street style – while some are predicted to rise with the season. If you love autumnal fashion as much as we do, keep reading to discover what trends should be on your radar.
Suede is truly everywhere right now. And by everywhere, we mean all over our social feeds. From brown suede jackets, to large suede bags, to supple suede loafers, you can’t have too much suede in your wardrobe this fall.
While red was the colour of the season last fall, this year, we’re dropping it down a couple of hues with all things burgundy! Or oxblood, or merlot, or Bordeaux, whatever you prefer. We love incorporating the colour via accessories to add a subtle element of interest to any look.
You can take the “country chic” trend super literally and put together an entire outfit that you would picture someone picking apples in the orchard wearing. Or you can opt to incorporate countryside-style elements in the form of plaid prints, flowy skirts, and knee-high boots styled in your own way. Neither answer is incorrect.
Kind of in line with the above trend, denim on denim is going to be a huge style choice this season! And contrary to popular belief, the denims do not have to be in the same wash. In fact, it’s almost better when they’re not.
With the rise of the “office siren,” are we really surprised to see office wear and suits trending this fall? From blazers to pencil skirts and everything in between, it’s time to bring corporate to the streets with the suit-savvy trend.
We partly have Chloe to thank for the resurgence of boho. Bring your billowing, breezy silhouettes of the summer straight into the fall season this year and mix them with “harder” elements like leather jackets and boots.

Fall is around the corner, and Pinterest has just released its Fall 2024 Trend Report, unveiling the top anticipated trends in fashion, beauty, home decor, food, and hobbies! With Pinterest being one of the top platforms for finding inspiration, its predictions are based solely on search data across its millions of users—40% of whom are Gen Z. This fall, expect a rise in bold prints, intricate Japanese-inspired nail art, and a more-is-more makeup approach, to name a few of the top forecasted trends.
Biophilic Fashion is essentially described as fashion inspired by nature. This is where we’ll see bold prints such as leopard print, camo, animal motifs, printed tights, and more!
In recent Pinterest trend reports, puff elements like the balloon skirt and puff sleeves have been a recurring theme in fashion. The voluminous ‘puff and puffer’ trend will continue to rise in popularity this fall!
Along with the “more is more” makeup approach, dewy and glowing makeup looks will be a huge fall beauty trend this year! In case you haven’t heard, ultra-glossy lips have already been making a comeback, and cool-toned looks are all the rage. Pinterest also listed soft baddie makeup, igari makeup, and soft cat eye makeup amongst its trending searches.
It’s time for a mani-refresh! Searches in bow nail designs are up by 2220%, while Japanese-inspired nails are up by 600%, on Pinterest. Japanese nail designs often feature soft, pastel colours and intricate nail art. “There is a growing interest in Japanese culture due to the influx of travellers to Japan,” shares Pinterest.
As mentioned above, the forecasted trends inspired by Japan reflect the growing interest in Japanese culture. Pinterest lists Japanese vintage art, zen houses, and Japanese futon bedrooms as trending searches, drawing the conclusion that ‘Harmonious Japanese Style’ home decor will be a theme of choice in the coming months.
Who doesn’t want a dedicated cozy corner in their home? From candle bouquets to cozy reading nooks, Pinterest has all the inspiration you need to make your home cozy in time for the fall season.

Pinterest just released its highly anticipated Summer 2024 Trend Report, highlighting what’s expected to be the hottest fashion, beauty, and home trends this summer, based on what Pinterest users are searching. With summer on the horizon, there’s no better time than now to start getting some fashion inspiration for the upcoming season! Spoiler alert: Maximal fashion is taking over. From Y3K fashion (yes, you read that right) to corporate chic, we’ve rounded up our favourite fashion trend predictions from Pinterest’s Summer Trend Report!
We hate to break it to you, but dressing business casual to the club is back. But this time, it’s way more chic—don’t fret. Corporate chic, geek chic, pinstriped pants, and vest and skirt were highlighted searches in what Pinterest is calling “corp-core.” With the latest “office siren” trend, we can’t say we’re too surprised!
Eclectic, maximal, charmed, and chunky jewellery pieces are going to be a major styling theme this summer! We’ve already noticed eclectic jewellery is on the rise, and it’s only going to become more prominent. Whether it be with a variety of stacked necklaces and rings, cute charms on bracelets and bags, or a statement earring, eclectic jewellery in all shapes and forms is the moment.
Unlike Y2K fashion, which refers to past styles from the early 2000s, the Y3K aesthetic refers to the future—fashion that could be imagined for the 3000s. Pinterest highlighted silver sneakers and lime green outfits as popular searches related to the Y3K fashion trend. When we did our own Y3K Pinterest research, we saw tons of silver, futuristic eyewear, and an emphasis on technology.
Labelled as “tomboy femme,” Pinterest predicts that cargo pants, oversized jerseys and baggy clothing will be big this summer. Avril Lavigne would be so proud!
Get ready to have some extra fun with your style this summer, because bold patterns and new silhouettes are on the way! Puff and bubble skirts, for example, are predicted to be a major trending silhouette this summer. If you’re not familiar with the fresh style, it’s essentially a skirt on the voluminous side that features a tucked-in hem – creating a bubble effect.
Corporate chic not your thing? Enter rocker chic. Pinterest users have been looking up terms like “alt baddie” and “rock and roll outfit” more and more lately, indicating that the rocker chic style will be amongst the trending fashion this summer. So dig out all the leather you own and get ready to embrace your inner rockstar (in the most not cringe, stylish way possible).

Boho-chic is back, and it got a makeover! Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have entered the chat. Back in the early 2000s, the boho-chic fashion aesthetic was huge. Popularly being worn by it-girls such as the Olsen twins, Nicole Richie, and even Gossip Girl’s Serena Van Der Woodsen. You may remember the boho fashion with a hippie-like, maximal approach, and although some core traits are being carried forward into today’s version of the trend, there’s an overall more refined feel to the new boho-chic.
The resurgence of the trend was made extra concrete with the virality of Chloé’s latest runway show (Chemena Kamili’s debut collection for the brand). She said it best to Vogue when asked about the return of boho-chic: “I think there’s this longing for undone-ness and freedom and softness and movement…” The designs in the show featured flowy silhouettes, shirred necklines, statement accessories, large sunglasses, and an overall bohemian vibe that felt fresh and nostalgic at the same time. Boho-chic doesn’t stop at Chloé, though; there are plenty of places to shop the new-and-improved trend.
Free People never gave up on boho. You can always find flowy dresses, maxi skirts, fringe, frill-adorned everything, and essentially all things boho while shopping the Free People catalog. The shop itself was founded in the 1970s, then rebranded to Urban Outfitters, and later became its own separate identity again. Free People aims to provide femininity, courage, and spirit in clothing—which is really what boho is all about!
Urban Outfitters was essentially founded by Free People and remains a part of the URBN group of brands. So it’s no surprise that it also has an extensive inventory of boho-chic finds. While shopping at UO, you’ll find a mix of in-house and branded apparel, accessories, and shoes. While bohemian isn’t what it’s exclusively known for, you’ll find no shortage of options!
Guess what? Anthropologie is also part of the same brand group (URBN) as Free People and Urban Outfitters! Although the brands all have their own identities, the aesthetic similarities are definitely there. Anthropologie carries a wide range of high-quality brands as well as its own label, curated to perfection, with a heavy theme of boho-chic.
You can always trust Zara to come out with whatever fashion is trending at the moment, boho-chic included. From slouchy trousers to flip-flops to ruched dresses and skirts, you can surely create a number of chic boho outfits with Zara’s selection.
If you’re on the hunt for boho-chic wardrobe staples, don’t overlook American Eagle! The brand has always had a festival fashion vibe, and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Be festival-ready any day of the week with American Eagle’s wide selection of boho-esque items.
Indulge in the boho-chic trend sustainably at Reformation! Its pieces that lean more boho remain classic enough to wear long after the trend may or may not faze out. Shop items like its Valetta Two Piece, Simmie Linen Top, and Sariah Dress to get the boho-chic vibe, with emphasis on the chic.
If you love the boho trend for its feminine frills, layers, textures, and prints, you’ll love For Love & Lemon! The brand is known for its ultra-feminine pieces, a portion of which can fall into the boho-chic category.
Founded in Indonesia in 2014, Faithfull the Brand has collaborated with Bali’s best artisans to create its hand-made garments since day one and has continued to work closely with its local community ever since. Faithfull is known for its vintage-inspired prints, flattering feminine shapes, and unique designs that evoke a sense of summer and travel—AKA, a boho-lover’s dream.
Cleobella is a sustainable fashion brand that celebrates traditional craftsmanship with its pieces handmade all over the world. Every piece at Cleobella is a literal work of art, with boho-chic characteristics like frills, tassels, patterns, eyelet details, and so much more woven into every design.

8 Must-Have Jackets For Spring
It’s just about time to put your winter gear into hibernation and start dressing for spring! The spring season is such a fun time to experiment with different styles and trends, especially since there’s so much freedom to wear what you want without freezing temperatures holding you back. This spring, the fashion trends are full of range, so there’s something for everyone! From flowers to fringe, we can’t wait to style these trends!
Suit up! Business casual is back. With brands like Reformation and Aritzia recently launching all kinds of new business attire, it’s safe to say that this trend has officially arrived in full force. From matching suit sets to baggy trousers, the styling possibilities are endless when it comes to the business casual trend.
Channel your inner Gossip Girl this season and embrace the preppy fashion aesthetic. You can go full-out by ‘uniform’ dressing head-to-toe, or you can simply incorporate preppiness into your outfit with a collared shirt or a pleated skirt.
Close friends with the preppy fashion trend is the sporty fashion trend – similar concept, slightly different result. From track pants to jerseys, there are so many ways to play around with the sporty trend. We personally love the contrast of adding something sporty to an otherwise feminine outfit.
We know… florals for spring… groundbreaking. Jokes aside, flower details in all forms are uber popular right now and can’t be ignored. From rose appliques to floral prints, we are aiming to look like walking gardens this spring.
The time for fringe, is now – and we’re not talking about the haircut. Fringe in all shapes and sizes have been everywhere lately. Sparkly tinsel fringe bombers (think Taylor Swift) to classic Western-inspired fringe suede jackets (think JLo) all the way to sparkly bedazzled fringe on dresses at award shows (think Miley Cyrus). Fringe refuses to be ignored this spring.
Get ready to show some leg, the shorter the better when it comes to shorts this spring! You can ease yourself into the trend by wearing a baggier style, or even styling the shorts with tights for extra warmth and coverage.
Oversized bags are the ‘it’ style of the season! If it can’t fit your laptop, current read, makeup bag, and most importantly, snacks, we don’t want it. Leather and suede tote bags, in particular, provide an elevated look to any outfit.
If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a romantic goddess, this is the trend for you. Draped details such as ruching, gathering, and perfectly flowing fabrics have been growing in popularity at immense speed. We love this trend for making an outfit feel more dressed up and feminine. You can incorporate the draping trend easily with a draped top or try it out on your next dressy occasion with a beautifully draped dress.
Icy blue seems to be the upcoming colour of the season and we are so here for it. The colour provides the freshness we’ve been longing for after a gloomy and grey winter. Plus, icy blue is just hues away from white, which always shines bright in the spring season.

According to Pinterest, These Trends Will Dominate In 2024
We snagged a seat at the Pinterest Predicts 2024 Presentation, where Pinterest predicts the hottest fashion, food, home, and lifestyle trends for the year. Over the past 4 years, 80% of the trends Pinterest forecasted have come true. For example, in 2022 it was predicted that ‘dopamine dressing’ would be a major trend, and a major trend it was (and still is)! With more than 480 million people from around the world coming to the platform each month to get fashion, home, travel, and beauty inspiration, Pinterest continues to lead the way in trend spotting.
Think… under the sea. From home decor to fashion to beauty, Gen Z and Millennials are driving trends reminiscent of all things aqua-related, from jellyfish to bubbles.
Start adding more bows to your collection because the brow trend is going up a notch! In 2024, there will be no such thing as too many bows. Wearing multiple bows in your hair, on your clothes, and incorporated in your accessories is the vibe.
Consider trading your neutrals for something a little more hardcore this year with cool silver tones and bold chrome! This trend can be incorporated with metallic silver nail art, aluminum furniture, silver layered necklaces, and more!
Quirky, eccentric, fun kitchens featuring bold paint, vintage appliances, vintage-inspired dishware, and thrifted finds are about to take over the decor scene!
This year, create café-worthy beverages from the comfort of your own home with an at-home coffee station – you may even end up saving some dollars in the long run!
Western goth is predicted to be another major upcoming decor and fashion trend. It refers to mixing vintage Americana chic with deep, moody hues.
And no… this doesn’t mean to make a bunch of noise literally. This trend prediction is all about badminton! Apparently, badminton will be extra popular in 2024, from playing the sport to dressing in the badminton aesthetic (sporty skirts, white sneakers, headbands, etc).

You’ve probably seen the ‘Ins and Outs’ trend populating your socials as of lately. It’s essentially a twist on the classic New Year’s Resolutions. ‘Ins and Outs’ can pertain to anything from goals and habits to fashion and style. We’re not here to tell you what fashion trends are ‘out’, because if you like it. Keep it. But it’s always fun to discuss what fashion trends are anticipated to be ‘in’ and louder than ever in the new year. Some of these fashion trends have already marked their debut, while others are waiting for their perfect moment to shine.
We hope you haven’t had enough of the colour red yet, because it’s here to stay! Yes, red as a colour is a classic that will likely never go out of style, but right now and for the foreseeable future, the colour is stronger than ever in the fashion world. From tights to knits, it’s all in.
The bow trend comes as no surprise, as over the past year, bows have been taking over in the form of hair accessories, outfit motifs, etc. And they’re here to stay! During 2024, expect to see a lot of bows and ribbons – even outside of fashion.
Not to give you Jersey Shore flashbacks, but leopard print is making a major comeback. But in a more… chic way. Leopard print is one of those prints that will never fully go out of style, but it has its moments when it’s more prevalent. Expect 2024 to be one of those moments. Leopard print jackets are such a vibe.
Speaking of hems getting higher… expect to see a lot of mini skirts (and shorts for that matter), throughout the year. According to the Hemline index theory, skirt lengths get shorter in good economic times and longer in bad ones. Maybe this is a good sign for 2024? Either way, get ready to show off some leg (or tights)!
Tights in all colours, patterns, and designs will remain to be a huge fashion trend in 2024. With hemlines getting higher, tights offer an element of extra coverage and interest to an outfit. Plus, they’re so fun to play around with and style! Swapping a pair of black tights for a pair of lace ones can change up an entire outfit. We’d say you need at least a black, red, and lace pair to get you started.
If you’re over carrying bags that fit next to nothing, you’re in luck. Large, slouchy bags you can essentially fit your whole life in, are said to be huge this year, specifically in a leather or suede fabric and a relaxed silhouette with little to no logos. It’s giving *quiet luxury*.
Don’t stress. We aren’t talking skinny jeans here. Slim pants, as in straight leg, cigarette pants, or otherwise just generally slimmer fitting pants will be a favourite pant style of choice in 2024. Over the past year, it was all about baggy, loose-fitting jeans and pants, so it’s only natural to want to switch it up a bit in the new year!
With current trends like tights, bows, short skirts, and quiet luxury, it’s no surprise that preppy has been labelled as a top trend for 2024! To nail the trend, simply dress like you attend an expensive private school. Just like Blair and Serena, you can definitely put your own twist on this trend.
We’re not leaving sparkles and sequins in the holiday season this year, we’re bringing them into 2024! As seen in 2024 runway shows, sequins for all seasons and occasions will be a theme throughout the year. Sequin shorts for a summer BBQ? Heck yes.
Statement jewellery of all kinds are so in right now. We won’t go as far to say the statement necklaces of the 2010s are back. But chunky jewellery, mixed metals, stacked dangle bracelets, and otherwise costume-style jewellery will be a styling theme this year. It’s also worth noting that big early-2000s-style sunglasses are making a resurgence!
Come springtime, get ready to bring out the capris! People seem to feel really strongly about the cropped pants, but we urge you to give them a chance. They’re a great option for the “in-between” weather spring has to offer, and are actually quite practical. If you still need some convincing, think Audrey Hepburn.

As 2023 is quickly coming to an end, it’s only fitting to take a look down memory lane and reflect on the fashion trends that took over this past year. In order to do a proper recap, we dove into Lyst’s 2023 fashion report, highlighting the top trends, accessories, and brands that dominated, combed through a series of magazine articles, and of course, tapped into social media and real-life encounters to observe which trends left the biggest mark. 2023 felt like a consequential year in fashion, with pop-culture references, viral moments, and an emphasis on personal style taking over.
Lyst named underwear-as-outwear as the top fashion trend of 2023! Popularized by celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Hailey Bieber, and on the runway (think Miu Miu’s F/W23 Fashion Show). Underwear, or ‘hot pants’ paired with tights and usually a long coat or blazer, was a massive trending fashion moment this year. That being said, the trend is criticized for being a tad unpractical for wearing out in public.
The rise of quiet luxury was evident this past year. The quiet luxury trend is more of a feeling than it is any particular clothing. It’s how a whole look is put together, aiming to look expensive without the use of designer logos. Sofia Richie, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jennifer Lawrence are great celeb-style references for the quiet luxury aesthetic. Brands such as The Row and Max Mara also nail the concept. But that doesn’t mean you actually have to be uber-wealthy to achieve quiet luxury. It’s really more about the styling of elevated basics.
With the excitement around the release of Barbie this year, the trend known as Barbiecore absolutely took the world by storm. From brand collaborations to pink ensembles everywhere, there was no escaping Barbie-esque fashion in 2023. Barbiecore is characterized by feminine silhouettes, playful prints, and lots of pink, as seen on Margot Robbie, who plays Barbie, on various red carpets and press releases for the movie.
The coastal grandmother trend became popular in 2022 and continued to remain strong throughout 2023. The trend, along with quiet luxury, emulates a particular feeling through dressing. The coastal grandmother trend is achieved with the use of breezy button-ups, linen pants, nautical stripes, luxe knits, and sandals. Basically, picture what a Hampton’s grandma lounging by the beach would be wearing.
Although ‘balletcore’ was a big trend this year, even more so was the fashion piece that seemingly kicked off the trend. Ballet flats! They quickly became one of the most popular shoes of the year, in all styles of renditions, from satin to mesh. Ballet flats were seen worn alongside the balletcore trend, styled with pieces a ballerina would be seen wearing on their way to rehearsal. But also in more unsuspected styling choices, like with workwear, for example.
If a colour could be an entire trend, it would be red. From tomato-girl summer to crimson-red fall, red was the colour of the year and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Red is described as a colour of passion, love, anger, and power and is often used as a part of dopamine dressing (dressing in colours and patterns that tend to boost your mood). With the recent past being full of rules and limited social activities, wearing red almost feels like breaking free.

It’s official, we have now entered the year 2023! As we get settled into the new year, it’s only natural to think about what’s to come. In terms of fashion, there’s a whole lot to look forward to. We’re currently in an era where the trend cycle is moving so quickly, it’s difficult to keep up and people have no choice other than to let their personal style shine through! Since virtually every style seems to be trending, people are simply picking and choosing which trends they choose to participate in. That being said, there are still some fashion trends that will have a brighter spotlight than others this year, and we’re here to show you which ones that will likely be taking centre stage.
With every trend in the books having its moment, people are turning to something relatively new and fresh in fashion. Futuristic fashion – think The Matrix and alien-chic. We saw something similar (but still very different) in the early 2000s when technology started to take over, it was very much so reflected in style. As technology continues to advance, fashion innovates alongside it with 3D-printed garments, accessories made out of glass, silhouettes reminiscent of space gear, and tons of silver and metal tones.
We’ve seen the sheer clothing trend in the past, and it’s coming back in a new elevated way this year! We can expect to see sheer, delicate fabrics with feminine design elements and patterns. We’ll also be seeing the use of sheer fabrics within non-sheer garments as an added touch of interest.
When you think of denim, you may not think of it as a trend as much as a staple basic. As much as that may be true, this denim trend is taking jeans to the next level. We can expect to see a lot of oversized denim, denim on denim, and basically every clothing piece you can put on your body, made from denim.
In 2022 cargo pants were definitely having a moment, and 2023 is taking that a step further with cargo-styled everything. Not only will we be seeing cargo pants, but also cargo skirts, tops, jackets, and more.
You either love it or hate it, but either way, you can no longer avoid it. Maximalism fashion has taken the world by storm this past year and it isn’t going to stop any time soon. The mix of colours, textures, and statement pieces all worn together in a seemingly unintentional way (but is in fact very intentional), is the vibe here.
Every year around the holiday season we see a spike in silver and sparkles within fashion. This year we’re expected to see the silver and sparkle trend go all the way into the spring and possibly beyond! Why not treat every day like you’re going to an NYE party?
Skirts in general are going to remain a big fashion trend this year, and long skirts in particular are going to be uber popular. You can tie this trend in with the others by sporting a long cargo or long denim skirt!
If you’ve yet to snag a pair of western boots, you may want to consider it! All styles of western boots have started to pop up everywhere and they surprisingly can be styled with basically anything, giving a very “model-off-duty” look. A bonus of this trend is that western boots can be worn throughout every season, so you’re sure to get good use out of them (that is, if you’re into this trend, of course). You can try to thrift this trend, invest in the iconic Ganni ones, or shop around for your perfect pair, as they shouldn’t be too hard to find!
