There have been a few proposals lately for new parks in Toronto, but this newest proposal is one the most interesting. The proposal is for a new park system that will connect various green spaces along a hydro corridor on the west side of the city. The park proposal Dubbed the “Green Line” takes heavy inspiration from New York’s High Line and is looking like it will get approved sometime in 2017.
The park will run through a corridor that spans from Landsdown to Spadina connecting green spaces that were previously disjointed and unconnected.
An organization called Park People who have been advocating for the Green Line since 2014 have made an excellent video that describes the vision of the new park system.
