Being vegetarian or vegan is easier than ever these days thanks to the amount of restaurants and fast food joints hopping on the plant based bandwagon. The next fast food joint to follow suit is none other than KFC, however the chain is only offering vegan fried chicken for a very limited time.

The fried chicken alternative will be available at one KFC Canadian location for one day only.

If you live in the GTA, you’re in luck because the “fried chicken” will only be available at the Mississauga KFC at 6055 Creditview Road on November 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The plant based nuggets and wings will be made by American meat substitute manufacturer LightLife.

This is a change from the Beyond Chicken that the restaurant tested at an Atlanta-area location that completely sold out.

KFC is just another fast food chain to latch onto the plant based trend. Burger chain A&W has been known for introducing the Beyond Meat Burger to its customers, and McDonald’s recently announced it would be adding plant based burger to its menus across the globe.

That’s not all because even coffee giant Tim Hortons has dabbled in the plant based world with it testing out Beyond Meat breakfast sandwiches and even plant based eggs.

The plant based fried chicken at KFC will only be available while supplies last.

We suggest getting there early if you’re keen to try the chains vegan eats. KFC’s Plant-Based Fried Chicken Sandwich will be priced at $6.99 for just the sandwich and in a meal starting from $8.99. The Plant-Based Fried Popcorn Chicken Bucket is expected to retail for $3.99.
