It’s that time of year when it gets darker a little earlier every day, leaving us with shorter days and less sunshine. As the daylight decreases, it can be difficult to want to do anything but cozy up on the couch and watch a movie. Motivation becomes something we have to work towards if we want to continue to stay on track and be productive in our daily lives – even on the gloomiest and darkest of days. But, together we can fight these winter blues and work towards achieving our goals. With some simple tips and tricks, staying motivated becomes that much easier.

Try These Tips and Tricks To Stay Motivated As Daylight Decreases!

Set Goals

Working towards something is the best way to find motivation. Whether it be personal or work-related. If you have tangible goals you aim to reach, you can then plan out what you need to do to in order to accomplish them.

Wake Up Early

Make the most out of your day and enjoy the little sun we do get, by waking up earlier! Waking up relatively early is the first productive thing you can do, setting yourself up for success soon as you open your eyes. Sleeping in may feel good at the moment, but it tends to make getting out of bed a little more difficult.

Seek Inspiration

A great way to motivate yourself is to find motivation in others and the things around you! Create a Pinterest board with various things that will motivate you to achieve your goals. For example, if a goal you have is to learn how to drive – save a picture of a dream car to refer back to give you a boost of inspiration.

Get Active

It’s no secret that getting some exercise is a great way to boost energy and obtain some much-needed dopamine. Getting a good workout in, in the morning sets the foundation for a productive day!

Go On A Daily Walk

This tip is for everyone, but especially those of you who work from home. It can be too easy to stay inside all day when you don’t have a real reason to leave – especially in the winer. Make it a priority to bundle up and go on a walk and get some fresh air as a part of your daily routine.

Make To-Do Lists

If you write it down, it simply can’t be ignored! Plus, it’s so satisfying getting to check items off the list as you go! It’s like a little reward every time you complete a task.

Go Out With Friends

Spending time with friends and family on a regular basis is underrated yet so necessary! Make an effort to schedule time aside to be around the people who make you feel good. It’s amazing how much this can actually bring your energy level up, in turn, increases motivation!

Get Ready

Getting dressed in an outfit you feel your best in does wonders for motivation. It goes along with the concept of “dress for the job you want, not the job you have”. If you’re dressed as your best self, you’ll also want to act the part!
