Are pick-up locations the new trend? Starbucks is opening more pick-up-only locations around the city.
Two more pick-up-only stores are opening, according to the Starbucks site, which are at 203 College and 1030 Queen West. There isn’t a specific timeframe for these quite yet, but it does say “coming soon.”
All you have to do is use the app and make a mobile order, which can consist of both beverages and food, to the pick-up only location.
According to a representative of Starbucks who spoke to Daily Hive, “When they arrive at the store, customers can track the status of their order on a digital screen in the store and then pick up their order directly from a Starbucks barista.”

Looking to save money at Starbucks? The famous coffee shop can get quite expensive, even if you plan on ordering just one drink. However, if you just can’t quit your Starbucks addiction, check out all of these awesome tips to save some coin the next time you place an order.
The very first money-saving hack that’s a must, is to download and always pay with the Starbucks app. Not only are you the first to know about exclusive offers and gifted free birthday drinks, but the more you pay using the app, the more rewards you can get, and therefore save money from your order. Be sure to use the rewards within six months, because they will expire.
Did you know that you can get up to four ounces of free steamed milk with your beverage? So, if you’re a lover of the foamy topper, make sure to order a drip coffee and add steamed milk, instead of a Caffè Misto, which is basically the same thing. In the end, you’ll end up saving close to a dollar!
If you’re out with your bestie and you both don’t want to spend a ton on a fun drink, then order a venti and ask the barista to split it between two tall cups. The venti is 20 ounces and a tall is 12 ounces, so you really only lose out on one ounce each, but can save well over two dollars depending on the drink.
If you’re a true fan of Starbucks, you might want to consider getting a job there. Baristas get free drinks up to 30 minutes before and after each shift, and even during breaks. They even get one free meal and 30% off of food and drinks on days off Now that deal can’t be beaten!
Skip the bottled water at Starbucks because you can get a Tall sized cup of water for free! You can even request ice to keep your H2O cold.
Typically, when you order a tall coffee, the barista will ask if you want to leave any room in the cup for milk or cream. So, if you order your drink but request it to be in a grande cup, you’ll have plenty of room for additional toppings at the condiment bar, without missing out on any of the coffee.
You’ll get a $0.10 discount on your drink if you bring your own cup. Although it’s not a whole lot, this can definitely add up, plus, you’re staying eco-friendly as well! *Currently due to pandemic barista’s won’t take your cup, but they will still offer the discount*
A venti hot tea comes with two tea bags, so ask for one of them in the cup and the other out. You can definitely use both, or you can save that other tea bag for another drink later on instead of purchasing another!
When you use the Starbucks Rewards app to pay for your coffee or tea, you can get a free refill as long as you stay in the cafe.
Once you’ve been notified through the Starbucks app or email that your local shop is currently having ‘Happy Hour,’ be sure to head over there ASAP. Depending on the deal, you can get BOGO or even half-off on some drinks.

10 Life Hacks To Make Your Workday A Little Easier
While your Starbucks barista is a friendly familiar face in your morning routine, there are certain insider secrets that they will never tell you. These little tricks of the trade will help you save, and will make your morning or afternoon pick me up even sweeter. It’s no secret that the premium coffee retailer isn’t cheap, with certain drinks being upwards of $5.00, so if you stop in at Starbucks frequently, there isn’t any shame in wanting to get the most bang for your buck and beverage.

This useful tip can be found on the Starbucks website if you know where to look! You’ll literally never wait in a Starbucks lineup again by ordering your coffee in advance. Simply download the Starbucks app, order + pay, and then head over to your local Starbucks and ask the barista for your drink. Voila! Time spent waiting equals zero minutes.

The theory behind this tip is actually quite effective. By simply asking your barista for less ice in any cold beverages, they’ll end up putting in more coffee or liquid to take up the space. This practice definitely adds up, especially since a lot of cold drinks are filled to the brim with ice! Think about how much extra iced coffee you can be fitting in your cup.

How many times have you sacrificed room for milk or cream in an effort to get as much coffee into the cup? Well, you don’t need to make this sacrifice anymore! Next time you get a tall for example, ask for your order in a grande cup. The extra room will mean you are maximizing on the amount of coffee, yet will still have an abundance of room for milk or cream.

Never purchased an overpriced bottle of water again. Instead, ask the barista for tap water in a cup the next time you are feeling parched and they’ll give it to you free of charge. Water is water whether or not it comes from a tap or a bottle. Let’s not pretend we’re out here ordering sparkling all day, everyday.

If you’re into strongly flavoured teas or want an extra kick of caffeine in your shaken iced tea drink, ask for it to be made without water. Usually, your barista will prepare pitchers of iced tea that are double in strength because it gets added to water when making the beverage. Ditch the water and you’ll immediately get a way stronger and more flavourful drink.

Surprisingly, very few people know that you can get free refills of hot or iced coffee, or hot or cold tea. The first step towards your free refill is having a registered Starbucks card or mobile app. Once you have this, use the app or card to make your purchase, and then get a free refill when you finish your beverage without leaving the store. The key here is not to leave Starbucks and come back, as the act of leaving will make your next drink a “new purchase.”

Frappuccinos are incredibly delicious, but they’re also one of the more pricer options on the menu. If you’re craving something frothy, ask your barista to make you a blended iced coffee for the same effect, but for less money. First, choose your cup size, then ask for milk and/or sweetener, and finally, kindly, ask your barista to blend it. Once blended, you’ll have successfully ordered a poor mans frappuccino.

An iced mocha is another expensive treat you love to hate. Next time you’re in the mood for something sweet, just ask your barista to add mocha syrup to a regular iced coffee, and you’ll get a similar if not identical tasting drink for way less.
