Restaurant Brands International, the owner of Tim Hortons, Burger King, and Popeyes has revealed its plan for what that might look like.

For the last eight weeks, the company’s restaurants have been complying with public health guidelines by serving customers through delivery, drive-thru, and mobile channels. Now that things are changing and it’s looking like things are heading in a positive direction, it’s time to start looking at what these quick-service restaurants will look like when they reopen to customers.
RBI has mandated that all employees must wear masks and gloves in the short-term but now it’s brand and operations teams are now looking into more comfortable and reusable masks that might become part of its standard uniform.

When these restaurants open up, customers will notice tabletop signage letting them know which seats are available and which are reserved to preserve social distancing.

In this time of self-isolation, it’s tough to not only stay positive but also find activities to keep us busy while hunkering down at home. If you’re a foodie, or want to get into cooking during this at-home period, then prepare to get very excited by this news.
The online cookbook, titled titled Open Source Recipes to be Used in Quarantine During a Global Pandemic, launched on April 4 and features recipes from restaurants like Patois, Tennessee Tavern, Paris Paris, and Enoteca Sociale, to name a few. Wondering how to get your hands on this cookbook? It’s available in PDF form for easy viewing on any device.
The book’s forward is written by its creator Nick Chen-Yin who is the former co-owner of Smoke Signals in Toronto. Chen-Yin says, “This cookbook is meant to be an open source toolkit that everyone and anyone can access during a time of heightened need,” Chen-Yin continues. “There are recipes from chefs, line cooks, home cooks, mothers, fathers, nonnas, popo’s and everyday joes.”

If you want to add a recipe to the cookbook, all you have to do is write a recipe for your favourite dish and add in all the accurate measurements in weight or by volume. Then send it in by email with Open Source Cookbook as the subject line. Photos aren’t necessary but they never hurt!
Recipes you can expect to see in the cookbook range from Robinson Bread’s Sourdough, Enoteca Sociale’s Mezze, Patois’ Jamaican Peppa Shrimp, and more.
